Gifts of Imperfection
January 15th - February 12th
One Chapter at a Time
Weekly meetings Presented by Sandra Sabene @ Liverpool Art Center
5 Weeks of Inspiration...
.Explore, share and discover with a facilitated group in sacred space.
Each week will cover 2 guide posts for wholehearted living. We will enjoy guided art journaling activities which will offer colorful approaches to writing our thoughts and ideas.
Ideas that we will be talking about include:
“Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.”
“Worthiness doesn't have prerequisites.”
“Perfectionism is self destructive simply because there's no such thing as perfect. Perfection is an unattainable goal.”
What does this have to do with art? Well, when we create, we bring everything to the table. Our best and our challenges come to the surface and when we are in the studio there's a beautiful sense of support and community. So this book can be a wonderful tool for exploring what's going on under the surface. At LAC, it's always about inspiration, support and growth no matter what we are sharing.

Guided & Facilitated by Sandra Sabene
Sandra Sabene is an artist, mother, and wife who has celebrated over 15 years in business running and developing arts & healing programs near Syracuse, NY. The arts and healing center, Liverpool Art Center, has evolved along with Sandra’s own evolution in the arts and healing industry. This experience is what she draws upon as she presents Brene’ Brown’s inspiring research about vulnerability, courage, and wholehearted living through the art of writing and owning our stories.

REVIEW: "The Brené manages to point out where the source of real issues are coming from in our modern everyday lives and that we are foolishly being too serious with ourselves as if trying to touch the Sun as Icarus tried to: A metaphor of trying to reach perfection; An unobtainable goal that only leads to tragedy every time it is attempted in any aspect of life we stress to obtain it.
Her wholehearted approach will open one's eyes to a new world of possibility, where we can regain the warmth of humanity that has been lost over the decades. The change starts at home, in ourselves, and what we are comfortable to bring from the inside to the outside -and if we aren't we need to adjust what we have inside us so that it is not darkness, but light -by forgiving ourselves and not trying to be perfectionists and striving to better ourselves so that we can better others. As the saying goes, "better late than never," and. "Rome was not built in a day." ~Amazon Book Review
